At QTS, our commitment to service extends far beyond infrastructure. Recently, we had the opportunity to help support a regional Honor Flight recognizing American’s military veterans. On May 12, five QTS employees served as volunteer “Guardians” on the 59th Eastern Iowa Honor Flight out of Cedar Rapids.
With a group of around 200 veterans and volunteers, honorees flew to Washington, D.C., for a day dedicated to celebrating the sacrifice of our veterans. The QTS Guardians stood side-by-side with Vietnam-era and Korean War heroes, helping with mobility and sharing stories as they visited historic landmarks, including the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon 9/11 Remembrance Site.
The emotional journey came full circle when the flight returned to Cedar Rapids, where a crowd of 300 residents and a brass band welcomed the veterans home.
As highlighted by The Gazette, the Honor Flight gives local veterans the “trip of a lifetime.”
QTS is incredibly proud of our volunteers and remains committed to supporting our military families and serving those who have so selflessly served our country.
