We’re committed to building data centers that don’t draw on a community’s water. Our closed-loop cooling system takes a one-time fill, then cycles the same water through chilled coils and heat exchangers indefinitely, for a Water Usage Effectiveness of 0.
Our operations run on 100% carbon-free electricity, and we pay the full cost of the energy our facilities consume. We’ve also committed to bringing more power generation onto the grid than our data centers use, so the communities we share it with aren’t paying for our growth.
Since 2019 we’ve planted over 545,000 trees through Grow with QTS. Every site starts with a plan for the land around it: what we protect, what we restore and what we plant back.
As we develop new projects, we work alongside communities to deliver meaningful benefits through local investments, workforce opportunities, infrastructure partnerships and long-term tax revenue rather than seeking local property tax incentives.
We mean what we say. Our pledges are our commitments taking shape, each with a number, a date and a place attached, so the results can be measured and shown.
Our global water stewardship pledge funds water infrastructure improvements, conservation projects and watershed restoration in the communities we call home, and will help us meet our goal to restore, replenish or protect more water than we withdraw by 2035.
