2. What branch of the military did you serve in and when?
I served in the U.S. Navy on active duty from May 1, 2019, to May 1, 2024. After completing my active duty service, I joined the Navy Reserve, where I have continued to serve since May 1, 2024.
3. What has your experience at QTS been like as a veteran?
As a veteran at QTS, I have had a very positive experience. Many of my coworkers are also veterans, creating a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork similar to what I experienced during my active-duty service. That shared background and commitment to supporting one another have helped make QTS a welcoming and rewarding place to work.
4. What are your passions in and out of the office?
I am passionate about hard work, teamwork and hands-on problem solving. Outside of work, I enjoy taking on challenging projects, including building a 1951 rat rod. I also maintain an active lifestyle and prioritize fitness by going to the gym every day, which helps me stay disciplined, focused and energized.
5. What is your favorite part about working for QTS?
What I enjoy most about QTS is the combination of the people, the schedule and the work environment. The supportive culture and strong team dynamic create a positive atmosphere that makes coming to work both rewarding and enjoyable.
6. Why did you choose QTS in Cedar Rapids?
I chose Cedar Rapids because I was ready for a fresh start and a new chapter in life after leaving active duty. It provided an opportunity to build a strong future, pursue my career goals and become part of a welcoming community.
7. Who inspires you most in your chosen field or career, and why?
Cole Weir inspires me most in this field. His ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge is remarkable, and he is always willing to help others. His professionalism, work ethic and commitment to supporting his teammates make him someone I greatly respect and look up to.
8. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and what would you do?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would choose Hawaii. The opportunity to surf, explore the ocean and dive with sea turtles has always been a dream of mine. The beautiful scenery and outdoor lifestyle make it a destination I would love to experience.
