Name: Kylie Sebastian

Title: Development Capital Intern

Current School and Field of Study: Auburn University, Finance Major with a Business Analytics Minor

Brief description of your internship: As a Development Capital Intern, I assist in a variety of projects, ranging from curating Budget Adjustment Memo documents to get approved by QTS leaders to release small amounts of capital or reduce project budgets, creating a Capital Request Process Playbook and Flowchart, and many other daily activities and side-projects that directly tie to Development Capital.

What led you to apply for a QTS internship?

I first heard about QTS on LinkedIn prior to Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business Career Fair. After meeting part of the Development Capital team, I applied for the internship because I knew it would be a valuable opportunity to bridge the gap between my academic background and real-world experience, all while keeping community volunteerism, faith, family, and integrity, some of QTS’s core values (and mine), close to heart. I was excited by a fast-paced and growing industry where I would be able to learn new skills, gain real-world experiences, and work alongside experienced professionals.

What was one or more of your favorite projects from your summer internship?

My favorite project I have worked on this summer is my Capital Request Process Playbook and Flowchart that will inevitably help QTS Employees navigate capital requests. While working on this, I was able to reach out to many different departments across QTS, including the Accounting Team, Investments Team, and Pre-Development Team. This has enabled me to fully immerse myself in QTS Data Centers as a whole, getting to meet employees across the company and learn more
about how all QTS teams work together!

What are your future career goals and how did this internship help you toward them?

I have always known I wanted a career in finance and in a fast-paced industry. Growing up, I watched my dad’s entrepreneurship through his career, and I learned just how powerful it is to know the numbers, as well as the bigger picture. Interning at QTS Data Centers has brought that full circle. I work in a role that challenges me to think strategically about capital releases and budgeting, capital planning, and long-term growth, all while staying true to our core values. I am learning how financial decisions shape operations, innovation, and sustainability, which is exactly the kind of impact I want to have as I grow in my career.

Name: Salman Khan

Title: Property Development Intern

Current School and Field of Study: Construction Engineering at Texas A&M University

Brief description of your internship: Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to intern with QTS Data Centers in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of the Property Development Team. This experience has immersed me in the full lifecycle of data center construction and development, allowing me to engage in both strategic planning and hands-on project execution. QTS operates at the intersection of real estate, technology, and infrastructure, creating a unique learning environment where I was able to witness how large-scale, mission-critical facilities are developed from initial concept to final commissioning. I originally began my internship during the Summer of 2024 and have remained with the company since then, continuing to work part-time during the academic year while attending school. This extended involvement has allowed me to build long-term relationships with the team, deepen my understanding of the development process, and take on greater responsibility across multiple project phases.

What led you to apply for a QTS internship?

I was drawn to QTS because of its unique blend of real estate development and high-tech infrastructure. As someone interested in real estate, technology, and large-scale construction, I saw QTS as an ideal environment to explore how mission-critical facilities are built and managed. The company’s focus on innovation, speed to market, and long-term impact made the opportunity especially compelling.

What was one or more of your favorite projects from your summer internship?

One of the highlights of my summer internship was working on a large-scale, five-building data center development. I was involved in helping manage progress reports, preparing weekly updates, and tracking vendor timelines alongside the project managers. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for the level of coordination and precision required to successfully develop such massive infrastructure. Another standout experience was conducting research and building a presentation diving into the potential for integrating sustainable energy storage methods into data center design. I explored the feasibility, energy savings, and implementation challenges of PCM technology, and had the opportunity to present my findings to members of my team and plan on presenting this idea to the company during my internship presentation. This project was especially rewarding because it combined my technical research skills with real-world application and innovation.

What are your future career goals and how did this internship help you toward them?

My goal is to lead my own data center project for QTS. I want to gain technical knowledge, leadership experience, and business acumen necessary to manage the full development process, from site acquisition and design coordination to construction management and long-term operations. Through my experience at QTS, I’ve developed a strong interest in overseeing complex projects where every decision impact functionality, cost, and timeline. In the future, I aspire to be in a position where I can run my own building or portfolio of properties, managing them efficiently and making high-level strategic decisions that drive performance and long-term value for QTS.

Name: Sannitha Surapaneni

Title: Technical Project Management Intern

Current School and Field of Study: Virginia Tech – MSBA-BA (Master of Science in Business Administration – Business Analytics)

Brief description of your internship: As part of the Technical Project Management team at QTS, I had the chance to work closely with the SDP team on projects focused on AI integration. It’s been an exciting experience contributing to innovation and learning how AI can support live diagnostics in real-world environments!

What led you to apply for a QTS internship?

I was drawn to the people and the community — passionate about what they do and committed to giving back and supporting one another. That kind of culture makes all the difference. QTS stood out as a place where I could learn, contribute, and grow in an environment full of opportunity.

What was one or more of your favorite projects from your summer internship?

One of my favorite projects was working on a new AI agent, designed to support the OSC team with live troubleshooting and diagnostics. I collaborated with the SDP team on testing, stakeholder communication, and refining the agent’s purpose. It’s exciting to be part of the future of AI and see how QTS continues to grow!

What are your future career goals and how did this internship help you toward them?

My goal is to pursue a career in program or product management, where I can blend technology and business strategy to drive innovation. I love learning and implementing new technologies, and I’m excited by roles that offer continuous growth and impact. I also enjoy traveling and hope to work in environments that combine global collaboration with strategic thinking. This internship gave me hands-on experience managing AI-driven projects and working with cross-functional teams, which helped me build the skills and confidence to move forward in that direction.

Name: Chinwuba Ezigbo

Title: Facilities Engineer Intern

Current School and Field of Study: Georgia Tech, Civil Engineering

Brief description of your internship: This summer I interned at QTS Data Centers supporting the Facilities Engineering and Innovation team. I contributed most to projects supporting the asset and infrastructure management within our ServiceNow platform, used AutoCAD to assist in the layouts of our Data Center sites, and helped streamline the efficiency with our deprovisioning process. I also had the opportunity to meet and speak with other teams in the Ashburn and Dallas sites.

What led you to apply for a QTS internship?

I was intrigued by the opportunity to learn about the data center industry, especially given its critical role in supporting the rise of AI and the increasing demand for AI infrastructure. I wanted to gain hands-on experience in a field that’s rapidly evolving and shaping the future of technology.

What was one or more of your favorite projects from your summer internship?

My favorite projects focused on accurately mapping the data center’s power distribution systems. It allowed me to get a better understanding of how power is delivered throughout the data center, the significance of accurate documentation within our ServiceNow platform and how it ties into customer capacity planning.

What are your future career goals and how did this internship help you toward them?

My future career goal is to become a well-rounded engineer with both technical proficiency and a great understanding of operations in mission-critical industries like data centers. This internship helped me work toward that by giving me hands-on exposure to the maintenance of critical systems and the challenges that are presented in the operation of data centers. The internship aided in my progression in learning more about the data center industry and understanding the importance of continuous learning early in a career in any industry.

Name: Bella Wyffels

Title: Intern, Sustainability

Current School and Field of Study: Georgia College and State University, Environmental Science

Brief description of your internship: I have been conducting a comprehensive review of sustainability reports from 10+ major data center companies. I am also taking a Data Center Dynamics course called The Business of Data Centers which has been teaching me all there is to know about a data center.

What led you to apply for a QTS internship?

I have always been deeply passionate about sustainability and have been actively seeking opportunities to apply that passion in a meaningful way. When I learned about QTS and its commitment to sustainability and transparency, I was immediately drawn to the company’s vision. The internship felt like a perfect fit, a place where I could grow professionally while also contributing to impactful sustainability initiatives.

What was one or more of your favorite projects from your summer internship?

The sustainability report competitive analysis I am working on. It has been very interesting to see industry trends and gaps in sustainability reporting across competition as well as customers.

What are your future career goals and how did this internship help you toward them?

My goal is to build a career in sustainability, ideally worming with a company like QTS. This internship has shown me how impactful sustainability work can be when it’s supported by strong values, great people, and real results. The experience I’ve gained, from the hands-on project to working with a team, has confirmed that this is the kind of environment where I’d love to grow professionally.

Name: Tanish Aggarwal

Title: Procurement Systems & Operations Intern

Current School and Field of Study: Michigan State, Supply Chain Management

Brief description of your internship: This summer, I worked on the Procurement Systems & Operations team at QTS, supporting key initiatives across Oracle and other technology systems. I focused on improving data accuracy and reporting around order fulfillment and inventory management to better support the company’s data center operations.

What led you to apply for a QTS internship?

I was especially intrigued by QTS’s unique position at the intersection of real estate, infrastructure, and technology as well as the fast growth that is going on. The opportunity to contribute to a mission critical team supporting procurement and operations for data centers really stood out to me.

What was one or more of your favorite projects from your summer internship?

One of my favorite projects was building a detailed report that traced the lifecycle of a unit from sales orders, creation, transfer, and receipt, all the way to associated purchase orders. It gave me a deep dive into Oracle and helped improve visibility across key inventory and procurement processes.

What are your future career goals and how did this internship help you toward them?

I’m passionate about working at the intersection of technology, operations, and business strategy. This internship helped me gain hands-on experience in enterprise systems and gave me real-world exposure to how large-scale infrastructure projects are supported by procurement and data insights skills, and that will be essential as I pursue a career in business technology or operations.
