1. What inspired you to choose QTS for your SkillBridge experience, and how did our mission, culture, and purpose resonate with you from day one?
I chose QTS because I wanted to transition into a company where my military experience, leadership background and security operations skills would be valued. After serving more than 20 years in the Air Force, I was looking for an organization with a strong mission, great culture and a real sense of purpose.
From day one, QTS felt like the right fit. The culture was welcoming, professional and team oriented. I immediately saw that QTS values veterans and understands the discipline, accountability and mission-focused mindset that service members bring.
2. What was your role in the military, and which branch did you serve in?
I served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years in Security Forces and security operations. My career focused on physical security, force protection, emergency response, leadership and risk management.
That experience helped shape how I lead, communicate, solve problems and support mission-critical operations. Those skills have translated directly into my role at QTS
3. What advice would you give to service members considering SkillBridge—and why should they consider QTS as their landing spot?
I would tell service members to absolutely take advantage of SkillBridge and be intentional about choosing the right company. It is a great opportunity to learn, build relationships and prove the value of your military experience in a civilian environment.
I would absolutely recommend QTS. The company has a great culture, values veteran experience and gives service members a real opportunity to contribute. QTS made my transition feel smooth, meaningful and supported.
4. How did your SkillBridge internship prepare you to contribute on day one in your full‑time role with QTS?
My SkillBridge internship prepared me to contribute on day one by giving me the knowledge, relationships and confidence I needed before starting full-time. I was able to learn the company, understand the security mission and build strong connections with the team.
The transition was seamless because of the way QTS welcomed me and trusted me with meaningful work. By the time I moved into my full-time role, I already felt like part of the team.
5. Who at QTS—mentor, leader, or teammate—had the most meaningful impact on your journey, and how did they help you navigate your transition from service to civilian career?
Charles Margiotta, my manager, has had the most meaningful impact on my journey. I consider him a mentor because he empowered me, trusted me and put me in a position to succeed.
His leadership helped me navigate the transition from military service to a civilian career with confidence. He valued my experience, provided guidance and gave me opportunities to contribute in meaningful ways from the start
