QTS Statement on Responsible Data Center Growth and Ratepayer Protection

Jul 23, 2026

QTS reinforces commitment to responsible funding of project-related infrastructure, ratepayer protection and long-term community value

ASHBURN, Va., July 23, 2026 — QTS Data Centers, a global data center leader and Blackstone portfolio company, today reaffirmed its support for the principle that the infrastructure needed to power the U.S. digital economy should be planned and funded responsibly, without shifting project-related costs to residential customers, as part of the Ratepayer Protection Pledge.

As national leaders, utilities and infrastructure stakeholders continue to address growing power demand from artificial intelligence and cloud computing, QTS said responsible data center development requires early coordination with utilities, regulators, and local communities to support reliable infrastructure, affordability, and long-term community benefit.

“Communities are right to ask hard questions about energy, water, jobs, infrastructure, ratepayer protection and long-term benefits,” QTS Co-CEO Tag Greason said. “Our responsibility is to answer those questions early, factually, and respectfully and to show through action that QTS data centers can support U.S. technology leadership while delivering lasting value in the communities that we call home. The Ratepayer Protection Pledge and QTS’ Commitment to Communities put those principles, that we have demonstrated for many years, on the record, and we understand that we should be held accountable.”

That commitment extends beyond energy infrastructure to the water, emergency services, road and traffic control infrastructure that responsible growth requires. Just this week, QTS committed to covering the full cost of project-related road and traffic control infrastructure upgrades near its data center campus in the City of Eagle Mountain, Utah.

QTS’ development model is grounded in its Commitment to Communities, which focuses on protecting residents from project-related costs, building responsibly, creating good jobs, investing locally and leading with transparency.

QTS believes responsible digital infrastructure development should be measured not only by the capacity it creates, but also by how it is planned, funded, and integrated into local communities. The company will continue working with utility partners, policymakers, community leaders, and local stakeholders to support reliable infrastructure, economic opportunity, ratepayer protection, and long-term community partnership.
