DALLAS, April 22, 2026 – In celebration of Earth Day, QTS Data Centers (QTS) today announced a new partnership with the Texas Trees Foundation to plant 5,000 trees over the next two years in South Dallas and Irving, reinforcing QTS’s commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term community investment in North Texas.
The initiative is part of QTS’s Tree Replacement Program, an effort designed to restore and strengthen natural ecosystems. Through the program, QTS aims to replant more trees than are cleared during data center construction, making a net positive impact on the environment and local tree canopy.
“Earth Day is about turning commitments into action,” said Megan Hofmeyer, Head of Sustainability at QTS. “Through our Tree Replacement Program and our partnership with Texas Trees Foundation, we’re taking meaningful steps to restore local tree canopy and make a positive impact in the communities where we operate.”
The tree planting effort will more than offset trees removed as part of QTS’s existing and future developments within the region. QTS has four campuses across the North Texas region, making long-term tree planting and local reinvestment especially important.
Working side by side with Texas Trees Foundation and local jurisdictions, QTS will support a variety of community centered planting efforts to deliver lasting environmental and neighborhood benefits. Plans include on-site tree plantings in public spaces in Wilmer, Irving, Lancaster, Dallas and Fort Worth, as well as tree giveaway events for residents in these communities. Texas Trees Foundation will lead site selection, native species planning, planting coordination and long-term care to help ensure healthy, resilient urban forests for years to come.
“We are proud to partner with QTS on this holistic economic and environmental investment, bringing new jobs and trees that cool, clean, and beautify our communities,” said Elissa Izmailyan, Chief Strategy and Operations Officer for Texas Trees Foundation.
Trees play a vital role in cooling neighborhoods, improving air quality, managing stormwater and enhancing overall quality of life. By pairing QTS’s investment with Texas Trees Foundation’s local expertise, the initiative supports locally driven reforestation efforts that strengthen community resilience. This partnership also reflects QTS’s broader commitment to building digital infrastructure responsibly while investing in the communities it serves.
Additional details about planting locations and community participation opportunities will be shared as coordination with local partners continues.
