OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create a legacy of community integration, social inclusion and ecological wellbeing
We work closely with local partners and stakeholders across Cambois and the wider county and region, and we are aligned with Northumberland County Council’s (NCC) 2023-2026 Corporate Plan. Below are the main priorities:
Community investment
Support local initiatives and volunteer commitments in the communities of Northumberland.
Reducing inequality
Foster inclusive access to employment, education and community benefits.
Driving economic growth
Stimulate the local economy by supporting local businesses and offering skills training to the workforce.
Building ecosystem development
Build the capability and capacity of local and regional businesses while offering support to the area.

Local jobs and skill development
- Over 1,400 jobs created during construction
- A new Training Academy to support career pathways in tech, construction and operations
- Apprenticeships, internships and graduate roles for young people and career changers
- Work placement for individuals facing employment barriers
Supporting local business
- “Meet the Buyer” events to connect local suppliers with project opportunities
- Dedicated spending targets for small businesses, social enterprises and minority-owned vendors
- Business capability-building workshops and training
Community engagement
- Volunteering programs and charitable initiatives

- Support for biodiversity and sustainability projects

- Quarterly wellbeing surveys for workers and community participants

We’ve been actively working in the communities of Blyth and Cambois to find out where and how we can best support residents. Community groups and associations we’ve been meeting with include The Tute, Isabella Heap Volunteering Group, Briardale House, Lighthouse Community Hub and St. Andrew’s Church.
